I had reviewed T.Nile's album "Tingle & Spark" and loved it--this video debut is a pleasure for me when I asked her if I could debut it on my blog she told me this:
Hey Anthony, glad you like the new video, It actually premiered on a LA based blog called "Pure Volume" , but you're welcome to blog it first in Canada.
Thank you T.Nile for allowing me to do this debut for the video she is a considerable talent and has a great voice in my opinion and not something that comes across my site very often, also rare I get to debut things on my blog.
My regular readers may remember the review and showing of her videos "Running" as there are 2 different versions of the song--what's that? you missed them well then to recap here they are.
The first is a performance video:
This one they call a Cosmos video of the same song.
So a little bit of info for you before the NEW Video Debut here on Behind The Scenes --another first for me;
Home : Galiano Island
Genre: Deep // Electro // Folk
Quite a ways from her early days in a Galiano Island cabin on the wild coast of British Columbia, Canada, T. Nile has blurred musical boundaries, fusing the traditionally conflicting styles of Electro-pop and folk-roots. “Working with both acoustic and electronic instruments gives me a sense of unlimited musical possibility” she says, comparing the capabilities to a field of wildflowers versus a vase of flowers. On her new release Tingle & Spark, it’s a sentiment you’ll hear come alive in vibrant, twirling chords throughout the album.
Nile was groomed for an unconventional life. Her father performed as “Dan The Man, The One Man Band”, following in the footsteps of his inspiration and mentor Jesse Fuller, a street performer turned influential blues musician who famously penned “San Francisco Bay Blues” and inspired Bob Dylan to pick up the harmonica. From the age of six until her teenage years Nile accompanied her father as they toured the West Coast and Australia in an RV.
T. Nile has toured North America and Europe, won awards, including “Best New/Emerging Artist” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, played major festivals, released two albums, two EPs and in 2016 she will spend a good part of the year on the road in Europe, the USA and Canada.
Best New Artist // Canadian Folk Music Awards // Best Roots Song for "Trees" Independent Music Awards // NOMINATIONS // Best Vocalist // Canadian Folk Music Awards // FINALIST // Peak Performance Project // Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition
Her thoughts on the song and what went into the recording:
"If Only" was a late-night improvisational song that I happened to capture. I was at home alone in my studio with my Korg synth and it just poured out. For me it expresses the dizzy hot feeling of new passionate and dangerous love.
Here we are at the NEW video part for "If Only" is you enjoy it why not share this post and like her social media pages and check out her website. She is starting a tour next week here are the dates listed below the video.
