CD Review: Devildriver-Trust No One(Releases May 13th, 2016)Napalm Records

When I first heard Dez Fafara sing "Loco" for his first band Coal Chamber I knew he was something special and then they had asked and got Ozzy Ozbourne to sing back up vocals for the cover of Peter Gabriel's "Shock The Monkey".
Then I was watching Much Music here in Canada -The Power Hour and they debuted his new band Devildriver with their song "I Could Care Less" an instant hit with metalheads all over the globe.
I went out and bought the first Cd and never looked back as this is a band that keeps it coming each time they release a new album and this one is coming for you this May 13 with the title "Trust No One".

Their impressive touring and commitment to new music and also last year seeing Dez teaming up with his former Coal Chamber members to record another album with them also through Napalm Records shows he has thought of slowing down at all anytime soon.

This new album does not disappoint Dez is as heavy vocally and the band has some great riffs and fantastic drum beats even on the opening track that is "Testimony of Truth" the rest of the album has some great songs and they have a MP3 video for their first track release called "Daybreak"
Listen to it here:
As you watch the video it also shows you the items that can be purchased if you order early for it.

My song I like the best on this album is "My Night Sky" has some great elements throughout the song and nice mix of the guitars and riffs to kill as well.
They already have plans to tour this year to promote the album until August, hope they make plans to include Canada soon.

I like the cleaner sound they have found over the years getting the guitars mixed better and it all sounding a lot clearer for the listener.
The title track of the album "Trust No One" gets heavy within seconds in true Devildriver fashion. The onslaught of your eardrums are not over this is only song 7 here and this is awesome.
The midway portion 1:57 in of "Feeling Godly" is also so heavy and amazing to hear , drumbeats all over the place on this piece some amazing skills from new drummer  Austin D'Amond, being a drummer myself I can appreciate what he is doing here on the tracks.

Dez offers some words on the album as well:

“Trust No One is a vicious record filled with huge grooves and big hooks, guitar bass assery and thundering drums!

Lyrically it goes to a realistic space exploring a ton of different emotion and headspaces regarding being human and what it means to exist. The band worked long hours writing as well as in the studio along with our producer to forge Trust No One! I hope you turn it the Fuck up and enjoy this record from start to finish!” – Dez Fafara

This is another great album by a great band have been a fan since the beginning!

Thank you for reading this
Sincerely
Anthony Nadeau
