EP Review: Evocation-Excised & Anatomised(Released Sept 3rd, 2013)Century Media Records

After last years great album "Illusions of Grandeur" which I gave four stars for, they are back with an 5 cover songs for this EP.

Excised And Anatomised track-listing
Side 1:
1. ... For Victory (originally by BOLT THROWER)
2. Corporal Jigsore Quandary (originally by CARCASS)
3. You Suffer (originally by NAPALM DEATH)
Side 2:
1. Enigma (originally by EDGE OF SANITY)
2. Terminal Spirit Disease (originally by AT THE GATES)
All songs on Excised And Anatomised were recorded at the band's own Evocation Studios with Dan Swanö handling mixing and mastering at Unisound Studios. The cover and layout were once again created by Xaay, who previously worked with EVOCATION on their last two studio albums. The end result not only pays homage to other death metal legends, but also acts as a tribute to the scene that EVOCATION has been part of since the band's founding in 1991.
This is of course not their material and not really familiar with the songs but this is not up to their standards musically but they are covering these songs for a reason as they like these songs.

This is some real heavy stuff the album blasts out of the speakers and unlike their previous album I am not real fond of this as the previous stuff. I look forward to hearing more original stuff from them as their material is better than what they have covered.
Thank you for reading this
