CD Review: Argus-Beyond The Martyrs(Released October 1st, 2013)Cruz Del Sur Music

With all the blaring guitars and the bass, drums and vocals how does this band not sound like another band, I have been asked before. Sure in any genre of music there is some identifiable sounds, riffs , beats and lyrics that might seem similar to that of another band in that same category of music. Classical, Jazz and all the popular music of today can have the tendency to sound similar to that of the song played five minutes to that one airing.
The difference maker is chord structure and the timing of the song/album. Here we have Argus that makes no apologies and so they shouldn't this is some great Rock music.
This being my first time hearing this band even though this is their 3rd album, so many unheard bands these days and yet they still survive in the underground circuit of music, my hats off to them and many bands that just strive to play good music and the labels and PR companies that continue to push these artists that do their best to bring us great music.
"Trinity" is such a kick-ass song that it should be on every play list for 2013--the vocals are so classic metal sounding this is so groove heavy and awesome all into one song!
This album kicks so much major metal ass it has to be easily one of my favorites of the year--thanks guys for the great music!

Why not just share the streaming page from another site with you great readers for you to have a listen to the album in it's entirety some of you might agree with me and others maybe not so much.

"The Cowards Path" is so 70's inspired music and the riffs and the vocal styling make this song an instant classic.

(Band Bio)
Pennsylvania's Argus stormed onto the underground metal scene with their twin guitar-driven, doom-tinged, working class metal sound. Releasing a self-recorded demo in early 2007 on John Brenner's (Revelation/Against Nature) DIY label, Bland Hand Records, the band was roundly welcomed by the metal community at home as well as abroad and established its foundation amongst friends/fans within the scene. With this initial momentum, the band created a buzz that was only solidified by their punishing live performances. Their self-titled debut album was released in May of 2009 receiving much critical praise. The band continued to gain notoriety attracting like-minded fans world-wide who celebrate the genre and its core values of: hard work, discipline and integrity. Featuring the powerful voice of former Penance vocalist Butch Balich, Argus prepares to cement themselves within the metal archives with its sophomore effort, Boldy Stride the Doomed, on Cruz Del Sur Music in early May of 2011.

Below is some studio footage of the recording sessions for this album!
