British Columbia Talent--CD Review: Dalannah Gail Bowen-Them Menz

The blues is measured by the mood of the music and the singer and their soul being the heart of the music Dalannah has this in her voice and my what a voice she has indeed.
Having a friendship with Dalannah on Facebook was by the fact she was a friend's friend on the site we then became friends she had posted if anyone wanted to review her music to message her and she will send her music their way, this was the first step.
What happened next was amazing that she had sent me her earlier work as well as this album, "Mamma's Got The Blues"with a personal note stating
'Here are the two blues recordings that are in my catalouge.
The first cd is Mamma's Got the Blues" was recorded in 2007 at the age of 61 and my latest which is receiving airplay and been on the  Roots Music Charts for the past ten months is "Them Menz" recorded at the age of 66/67.

Born of African-Canadian / Cherokee heritage, Bowen has been music-making for forty years in the Canadian blues, rock and soul scene. Bowen started her musical career with the all-female group The Feminine Touch who toured Canada and the USA opening for acts such The Monkees and The Guess Who. As an in-demand vocalist, she has performed with or opened for other major artists including Led Zeppelin, B.B. King, Willie Dixon and many more. Her 2007 CD recording, Mamma’s Got The Blues, was released to wide acclaim and rave reviews from across the globe.
“She has a truly spectacular set of pipes and a most commanding stage presence. Bowen, has one of those voices that lays claim to part of your soul the first time you hear it and never lets go. It's that voice. Smoky. Earthy. Soulful. Powerful. But it's not just the voice. It's what she does with it. So much emotion. So much control.” (Canadian Musician Magazine).

I thank her for sending me her delightful music and look forward to hearing her other CD soon, she sent me two of her Cds.

This is a great blues recording and she has the talent and hopefully the time to record some more music as I am sure there are many out there as well as myself that would love to hear more from her.

Thank you for reading this
