The rating above is a special one as it is stating the album has a deep musical effect on me and it's almost rated 6 stars , means great work guys!
Having first heard them years ago when they first debuted and having the distinct pleasure of getting to interview them when I worked for Rockstar Weekly this band from Australia has not disappointed this reviewer, constantly giving great efforts for great music and this may come as a surprise to a good number of people out there as they are not a heavy metal band at all more easy listening , radio friendly band.
The contact for the band here in North America is James Moore from Independent Music Promotions and has been constantly sending me new bands and has become a trusted friend in this business and great promoter of Independent music worldwide.
Below I am going to share with you some of the first words for their press release when they released their first EP that I had the opportunity to hear way back then.
Found this press release in my computer's files.
The
Monks of Mellonwah are a four-piece alternative rock and indie band
based in Sydney. The depth and variety of influences driving each
member has led to the formation of a fresh and unique sound, blending
elements of classic blues & rock in Hendrix, Zeppelin, Pink
Floyd, and the Chili Peppers with more recent sounds including Muse.
Their first E.P., Stars Are Out, is testament to such a unique blend,
and has been highly praised since its release in 2010.
They have incorporated so many other styles over the years and have matured so well as a band , their first EP and their following 3 EP's are all great and this being their first full length album it has
taken them a good number of years to get here and I congratulate them on their tenacity and hard work.
Below is their first music video they ever made:
Here is the video to promote this album and some other videos just for good measure.
One of their earlier songs in the video below that has always had a place in my heart just love the vocals and the rhythm of the song.
Bio: 2014
Last year the Monks signed to A&R Worldwide (Muse, Coldplay). They've won 'Best International Rock Band' at the LA Music Awards and AIM Music Awards (2012), as well as being featured in CMJ, the Huffington Post and Kings of A&R. They toured nationally and internationally in 2013, received extensive airplay worldwide, played Singapore's Music Matters Festival, and will extensively tour internationally in 2014.
Constantly providing the ears with some great music and beautiful vocals like in the song "I Belong To You"
Thank you for reading this
Sincerely
Anthony Nadeau
