CD Review: Richard Tyler Epperson--Hourglass(Releases April 8th, 2014)Independent Music Promotions

I have listened joylessly to this album a number of times and is a peaceful reminder of that less is more and with the right tones and perfect musicianship you can accomplish anything you set your mind too.
This is a thoughtful record there is a soft tone throughout this album and some insightful and thoughtful lyrics about the world around us and how we can be better people.

Here are some thoughts on the album by Richard himself:

"Listening back to the songs, I started to realize a lot of them had lines or hidden messages about how fast time goes by and about trying to find happiness in the short time we have. Those thoughts inspired the song Hourglass and the name seemed to be fitting for me at this point in my life. Time goes by so fast and we all get caught up in daily life stresses that take us away from our dreams and the things we care about. The more I grow up and the older I get, the more potent that thought gets. If you stop to think about it, the hourglass is always running and it’s important to make sure you’re living life the way you want to be living it." says Richard.

This is some really great music , not groundbreaking but utilizing the amount of instruments he clearly has the talent to incorporate into his songs I have not had the pleasure of hearing this man before this album, I will seek out his other album.
He is being compared to the sounds  of John Mayer and Bruno Mars but personally speaking I much prefer Richard's sound over theirs , just my opinion.
This is easily one of my favorite albums of the year thus far.
Thank you for reading this
