Story Synopsis:

Two young American women go on a Mediterranean vacation and uncover the watery lair of a killer mermaid hidden beneath an abandoned military fortress.

I really enjoyed this film I was sent the DVD from the studio to review-this is one of those films I like to add to my collection being a big horror fan. I was pleasantly surprised by the strong acting that is usually not standard  for horror , this is a film from Serbia.

This has the traditional storytelling of films like "Jaws" as there is a creature of the sea-there are a few elements that everyone steals from the classic film(see below)
How else can someone make it clear that there is a creature in the water without having a shot like to emphasize the fact, it clears it up in seconds.
There is an old man that warns the young ones not to go on their quest he is more than the one in some of the other horror films as he actually helps out our group here.
They travel caverns and hallways that are not a film set but an actual building and the locations are fantastic all around.
The creature at the end is good but everything happens so fast that it is sometimes hard to catch a good glimpse of the creature when it on the attack that is my only real complaint about the film as a whole.

The fact that it takes place in a different location than a small town or forest for that matter makes all the difference as the story is not that far off of other killer(fill in the blank)films. But overall it was an enjoyable 2 hours and if you like horror I suggest giving this a look.
Thank you for reading this
